ARTIFACT THAT RESEMBLES OVERRIDING AORTA

Incorrect orientation of the transducer may demonstrate septo-aortic discontinuation in the normal fetus. This defect is probably related to the incidence of the ultrasound beam. This artifact can be recognized by scanning the left ventricular outflow tract and interventricular septum from multiple angles and by employing color doppler.
