MISSED ABORTION

Dead conceptus within the uterine cavity occurring between 8-14 weeks.

ULTRASOUND

• No cardiac activity when CRL >5mm endovaginally.
• Gestational sac too large for menstrual age.
• Gestational sac >13mm without yolk sac.
• Gestational sac >18mm without embryo.
• Distorted, irregular, sac with crenated inner aspect.
• Choriodecidual reaction that is irregular, discontinuous or thin (2mm).
• No double decidual reaction.
• Low sac position.
• Subchorionic collection.

14 weeks of gestation. Irregular vascular collection in the uterine cavity. May simulate a molar pregnanacy.
