MORTALITY RATE IN OMPHALOCELE

Survival rate:

• 90% if there are no other associated anomalies.
• 20-30% if one or more malformations are present in addition to the omphalocele (1,2). However about two thirds of fetuses with omphalocele have associated anomalies.
• Close to 0% for those with cardiovascular or chromosomal abnormalities (1).
