- Teratomas may occur in the
orbit resulting in proptosis.
- Macrocephaly may be present
if there is an associated intracranial teratoma.
- Usually composed of mature
tissue from all three germ cell layers and can be completely resected with
preservation of vision.
- Rarely they may be composed
of primitive neuroectodermal tissue which may replace the cerebral
hemispheres resulting in massive proptosis and fetal demise.
