Limb Deficiencies / Reduction Defects

Transverse deficiencies refer to congenital amputation and include:

• Aphalangia (absence of a phalanx).
• Adactyly (absence of a finger).
• Amelia (absence of an extremity).
• Most cases occur sporadically.
  

ASSOCIATED ANOMALIES

• Constricting bands.
• Hydrocephalus.
• Spina bifida.
• Clubfoot.

ASSOCIATED SYNDROMES

• Aglossia-adactylia syndrome.
• Moebius sequence.
