LATERAL VENTRICLES

ULTRASOUND

1. Ventricular Atrium

2. Posterior Horn

3. Inferior Horn

4. Other Parameters

  1. Cerebroatrial distance (CAD).
Increases as pregnancy progresses due to growth of the cerebral hemispheres.
  2. Atrial width/ HW ratio.
Decreases as pregnancy progresses, as the relative size of the atria decrease with brain growth.
  3. Atrial width/ CAD ratio.
Decreases as pregnancy progresses, as the relative size of the atria decrease with brain growth.

Normal ventricular atrium

Choroid plexus occupies the entire ventricle at the level of the glomus.

Hanging choroid plexus sign.

Ventriculomegaly with far field choroid hanging.

Aqueductal stenosis.
